The Black In Fashion Council was founded by Lindsay Peoples Wagner, the editor, and chief at Teen Vogue, and co-founded by Sandrine Charles, a PR executive. The Black In Fashion Council’s mission is to represent and secure the advancement of Black Individuals in the fashion and beauty industry. With assistance from the Human Rights Campaign, the Council will set up a balance record score that will give benchmarking around corporate arrangements and practices appropriate to the inclusivity of Black representatives. This will incorporate a yearly open report to follow the work that organizations who’ve marked a three-year duty vow to cultivate the portrayal of Black representatives at all levels. The Council is currently working with 39 companies such as The Real Real, and Urban Outfitters. The Black In Fashion Council is constantly adding companies to the list.
